Dental Bonding

Tooth scaling and root planing are the most common procedures for the treatment of periodontal disease (gum disease). For early stages of the disease (mild gingivitis), dental scaling and root planing are enough to help keep the gums healthy and firm.

Dental Bonding

Cosmetic contouring is a type of cosmetic dentistry that reshapes and contours teeth to fix various aesthetic problems. This cosmetic procedure changes the shape, length, and/or position of the treated teeth to make them look more appealing.

Dental Bonding

Dentures are used to replace missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. There are generally two types of dentures available: complete dentures and partial dentures. The type that is needed can be determined by your dentist. Typically complete dentures are used to replace all teeth and partial dentures are used when you still have some of your natural teeth in place.

Dental Bonding

A filling is the name of a dental procedure in which a material such as silver amalgam or a composite (white) filling is used to treat a decayed tooth. This material is inserted into the tooth where it then prevents the further spread of decay or repairs any damage. This treatment stops the decay from spreading into the root where it will cause a serious infection, e.g. an abscess. This also removes the need for a tooth extraction.

Dental Implants

Tooth whitening is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. It is the most popular treatment by both men and women alike and the treatments available range from one-hour one-time dental visits to take-home do-it-yourself kits. Tooth whitening is popular because it can significantly improve the appearance of your teeth at much less cost and inconvenience than other techniques.

Dental Bonding

Tooth bonding is the application of a tooth-colored resin material using adhesives and a high intensity curing light. The procedure gets its name because materials are bonded to the tooth. Bonding is typically used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of a discolored or chipped tooth. It is also used to close spaces between teeth, to make teeth look longer or to change the shape or color of teeth. Often times bonding is used as a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings, or to protect a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed when gums recede.

Dental Bonding

When teeth are heavily decayed they may be too weak to survive with just a filling. By placing a crown, a tooth may be given a new lease of life. Even when a single tooth is lost a denture may not be required as a bridge can be made which spans the gap with a tooth attached to those next to the space. Sometimes when a single small tooth is lost at the front of the mouth a simple bridge can be made which has 'wings' that are glued to the back of the adjacent teeth. This results in less tooth being damaged by the drill. Crowns and bridges are often a solution that can fill the gaps and restore your smile.

Cosmetics-Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is a general term and may involve one or several different procedures. The addition of a dental material to teeth or gums - examples: bonding, porcelain veneers (laminates), crowns (caps), gum grafts, the removal of tooth structure or gums - examples: enameloplasty, gingivectomy. It may also mean neither adding nor removing dental materials, tooth structure or gums - examples: teeth whitening (bleaching), gum depigmentation or straightening of teeth accompanied by improvement in appearance of face - Orthodontics.

Dental Bonding

In the situation that a tooth is considered so threatened (because of decay, cracking, etc.) that future infection is considered likely or inevitable, a pulpectomy, removal of the pulp tissue, is advisable to prevent such infection. Usually, some inflammation and/or infection is already present within or below the tooth. To cure the infection and save the tooth, the dentist removes the infected pulp out of the root canal(s). After this is done, the dentist fills each of the root canals and the chamber with an inert material and seals up the opening. It is best that the tooth be fitted with a crown.

Dental Bonding

Tooth or dental sealants are used to prevent tooth decay and the formation of cavities. Due to the irregular surfaces of our teeth plaque gets accumulated and sometimes it becomes difficult to remove it. As a result it attracts bacteria which cause cavities and the tooth starts to decay and eventually becomes dead. In order to handle the problem of cavities, especially in children, dental sealants are used. These are plastic resins that can be bonded to the surface of teeth to protect them from further decay and damage. Cavities usually form on molars and back teeth because they are harder to clean than other the teeth on the front.

Dental Bonding

Dental veneers are custom-made ultra-thin shells of tooth colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. The veneers are bonded adhesively to the front of the tooth to fix the look of teeth that are chipped, discolored, misaligned, uneven, worn down, or abnormally spaced. Veneers are a cosmetic dentistry procedure that creates a bright, white smile with beautifully aligned, shapely teeth. Veneers are constructed of porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers are thought to be more natural looking as they better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth and are known for their abilities to resist stains. Your cosmetic dentist will be able to help you decide which choice is right for your particular needs.
